Abbi Broadway is a 9-year-old little girl from Franklin, Kentucky that has started her own business in hopes of raising money to afford a service dog she needs to help deal with life altering seizures.
Abbi was first diagnosed with epilepsy last year, her seizures lately have been happening in the middle of the night so her family started looking for a way to help comfort the little girl. Abbi's mom Robin decided to find service animal training for their black lab Preston.
"It's going to cost upwards of $20,000," Robin says.
To help raise the funds she needs for a service dog Abbi has started
Abbi's Barkery, a small business that sells all natural dog treats.
The rising 4th grader has spent the last few months selling the dog treats at the Franklin-Simpson Farmer's Market and looks to expand her business by working with other small business in the area to sell her treats.
"We’re raising money so I can get a service dog," Abbi says.
Unfortunately, Abbi suffered a small set back in July after the family's dog Preston passed away. The 9-year-old will now have to raise even more funds to help get the service dog she needs.
"I’m not sad that I have seizures, it's just part of my life," she adds.
